Sleepy Sam.

I arrived at the yard bright and early [9:30] and got told that my horse had gotten out Saturday night, gone into the sand school and had a good role. His rugs were covered in sand and he looked very happy with himself when I got there. Like 'hehe, I had fun last night.'

Then I rode in the 10:30 group lesson and he seemed....dead[?]. Lesson was okayyy. Jumped biggish. My dad took some lovely photos, but Blogger is being stupid and not allowing any :/. Then I washed his legs and tended his mud fever and that jazz. Put him away and went and took some AMAZING photos of Tessie and Apollo and my friends jumping on foot :). I came back to brush Sam at about 3:30, but he was asleep <3.>

Then today, got down, mucked out and brushed him. Lead in a lesson and gave my old share pony [who was in the lesson] a good groom and gave her hay and water, while she cooled off in the shade :). Put Sam out in the sand school and he had a good old roll. When I rode him after lunch, I worked on straight lines and our inclines and centre line turns. He was good, slightly...cautious[?], but good. Did some no stirrups, good again. THEN, I opened the gate on my own and closed in when I went in!! I was so happy :P

THEN, there is a mare at our yard that has just had a foal, it is like 4 days old and they put it out into the sand school because it was getting to fresh in the stable. Sam was on the yard and the second he saw her, he was calling to her trying to get her attention and holding his tail up and puffing his chest out and flaring his nostrils :) He looked GORGEOUS!!

Anyway, so good today. Got a lesson together with Alex and Liv, Liv should be on Buddy and Alex will be on either Harvey or Dimple. Should be good :)

Urrrr, interesting Jumping?

*Rode Friday and didn't really do anything. Put him out in the sand school, expecting him to gallop about and roll. But no. He looked at me like 'what?' so I left him and then, decided I needed to ride so he didn't kill me today :) Then I did some small jumps, working on strides and that jazz. FAIL. HA.*

Then today I rode in the 1:30pm lesson. We did an exercise that I did back in the summer, but we did it minus the jumps we had. So, you do it from the rear of the file:
- Reverse Half Circle Return at 'K'
- Incline from 'F' - 'H'
- Then circle from 'C' - 'X' - 'C'
- Then halt at 'B'
Wait for the ride to catch up, the go.
We then did it with out stirrups and added canter at 'H' all the way to 'X' then canter at 'H' and canter your circle.
Then did it again with stirrups. I am quite pleased, th
ere was no mad swinging or anythingg.

Then jumped :D
I was pleased, my legs were okay, I just have to keep my heels down a bit, giving me a stronger position.

I was very happy with my position on the smaller ones :D I could have released more, but I am still learning.
One below was PERFECT in my opinion!! Just..ahhhh. PERFECT.

MY POSITION AND THE WHOLE THING WAS A FAIL ON TOPS, but still I have NEVER gone tops with Steve so I am happy :D
He took off soooooooo far aw
ay, after the jump I failed, but that will be in a video, haa.

[I also rode in a 'Kids' lesson to help them :)]

Perfection.

ohmygoodnessgraciousme!!!! A foal was born last nigh and was there when I got down todayyy. It is so cute, a little filly. But thats all I know haa.

So I rode Sam today and he was amazing. He was so....'WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'. I did lots of no stirrups after calming him down and stretching him out [he had a tetanus jab today]. Was really forward going and willing. We did lots of walk to canter, because usually we are terrible of that, but today PERFECT. I mean perfect. Straight off the leg and just, ahh. Bliss.

Then I rode in a group lesson [an easy one] as lead file, just to help them. He was a fed up 'I WANT TO GO FAST' was his attitude. Then we jumped and he was good. On the smaller ones he was like 'you must be joking'. Then in the end we did 2'9ft, I looked awful. My leg was okay, but the rest; fail. He was so fast AHHHHH. haa.

Pickles are amazing :)

Rightttttt, may I just say that he is amazing and that you must never ever say otherwise. I mean I knew Sam could jump, but he really surprised me on Sunday. After 3 hours on Saturday, he was still rearing to go and happpyyyyy to do it.
We did some trotting poles and he is so different when he does them, haa. He was really
lifting his legs up. Then we did some small crosspoles, he was good. But he was strong and cutting the corners :S. Then I fixed that. He was really responding to my leg and taking off
when I wanted :) Then we did a double then a triple. THEN, we did a HUGE spread!!

At that I thought we finished, but no. We went to tops :S

Amazing, took it in his stride. Amazing. Love. Then
, I was so happy with the lesson I didn't ride him again, but washed his legs and just groomed him :) He was a happy horse :D
On holiday now so riding everyday.
:D
Got him some new stuff today!!!

Sunny Days :D

Today was
such nice day!! I couldn't get over it. The sun shone all day and the sky was blue with no clouds!! It was hot, not sweltering, but hot, with a cool breeze. Basically, PERFECT conditions.
Okay, so from now on [for a little while] I will be riding in the 10:30am group lesson
on Sundays, this way I have a good ride in the morning and don't have to worry about the
schools being free, then if I am lucky and there is a school I can ride in the afternoon :)

We did a grid today, it built up from two jumps to three. They weren't high, but it was a good excercise. The jumps were about 2ft at the highest.
Thats all in the lesson really, but I have fixed my kicking!! I no
 longer 'swing' :DD.

Then later in the afternoon I rode again, as we didn't go high, I decided to jump again. The grid was still there so went up to 2'9ft on that, then went down the other end to the jumping school and did a few jumps. I wanted to see what he was like in his new bit :) He was fab!! Strong but good, jumped about 3ft :D
So s'all gurddd.
Gave him a bath, he was happy.
CAN'T WAIT TILL EASTER!!!!
:D

Rain, Lost Phones and Last Days :(

So today was and okay day. Didn't ride. I was going to, I was gonna do some small jumps  [fillars] to see what Sam is like with his new bit, but sadly just as I was going to go tack up, the heavens opened and that ruined that.
Then a friend suggested that we free school. So we waited for it to stop raining, but the WINDD!! So strong, I was like 'No, not in this rain.' I am a wimp :P
So I/we pampered him alllll dayyyyyyy. :D He was happyyyyy. Does everyone know those likits? The mollasses one? Well, I got two for Sam, and gave him a few licks of it yesterday and today when I got down; he had opened it and eaten the WHOLE THING. The the top half of his door shut because of the wind. I went and saved him :D

The title:
Well it rained,
my friend lost her phone
and
a REALLY special person left :(
Not much else to say really, riding Thursday and *MAYBE* Saturday!! Really hope I can!! :DD

Great Clown of a Horse.

Samuel is a clown.
Scared of EVREYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING.
We have new lights in our back schools now, so it is BRIGHT. Like riding in daylight [minus a few shadows :P]
Anyway, we where trying to get him in an outline, fail.
He has a new bit that is weaker and so it is harder to get him on the contact.
So my instructor got on him and taught me for about 20mins on Sam.
I got back on and we did some jumping, after cantering around in light seat.

After a few jumps, which I had to stop after to show control, we noticed that he NEVER landed on the correct leg. So she told me to lean more and half halt. But still, no.
So we put the jump on the center line and did and exercise where you came round on the right rein and had to go onto the left rein.
Sometimes it worked, but mostly no.
Then we were doing another one and he tripped and landed on his knees :S
But he was all gooddddd :)

Till Saturday,

Bareback :P

Saw Sam today :DD
I was gonna jump, but he did quite a lot yesterday, so I didn't wanna push him and make it a battle when he got tired.
So I just decided that I would have a laugh and just do crazy stuff :P
Like;
Bareback
Small jumps
No stirrups [and jumping]
and stuff like that.
Was excellent.
We had our issues in some corners, but once he had decided that all was right with the world, he was fine.
My friend Alex rode him while I rode her horse and then I got on Sam and did a little bit, just trying to calm him down. Then we went over a little jump and after that I let my other friend Alice ride him.
She LOVES him, hehe, but who doesn't :P
Then I got back on and jumped a bit bigger.
Then we rode BAREBACK, hehe.
Then we went back and I groomed him for an hour!! Before which, I oiled his tack :)
Then feed him and went home. :)
