Clustered.

I usually have a lesson on Thursday evening, but I didn't have one yesterday.
I just went down to ride the horseeyyyyyyy :D
I got down and he had been fed, so I had to wait to ride him. I ended up riding at 6:15ish.
Alex, Beth and I went into the indoor school, there were two other people in there :/
It is not the biggest school, so yeahh.

Not much really, he was good [well as good as can be in a tiny school with 5 horses].
Riding Sunday and seeing him Saturday eveninggggg.
Blog then.

[video from last Sunday is on its way up]

Our First Show; Merrist Wood.

Today Sam and I went to our first show!! And what a good first one it was, great way to start our new future together!! :D

He really did try. I was very happy, he didn't really spook or anything!!
In the warm up area outside, he spooked and dodged to the side :s I almost fell off, it was so close!!
But there were no refusals warming up or anything!! :DD He was bucking, but he was just excited :P
When we got into the ring he looked around, but wasn't really s
cared. I trotted him around the whole school, so he could see all the jumps.
When I came up to the first one, I sort of wished for the best :P He just kinda walked up to it :P
Then I brought him around again and he went over it, we knocked it down, but he still went over it :DD
Then we went clear.
We then did the same class [2'6ft] again, no refusals, but we knocked down the last jump of a triple :( We just got to close, I didn't see the strides.
He was amazing to load and unload, and everything.
We got back and he was like, 'Yeahh, I know I am amazing.' :P
Love himmmm xx
If this is how our future is looking, then I can't wait!!

Rain, Rain and more Rain & free jumping.

I am going to be completely honest.
Today was not
 great.
:(

He was just bucking a
 being
 a baby.
It is just annoying now.
But I have to remind myself of his age.
I have gotten tougher though, if he bucks I just kick him through
it and make him canter, then trot
and try again.
[tbh, I was tired and the rain had not put me in the best mood :/]
We free jumped him.
He doesn't like the indoor, at all.
The rain pelting down outside, hitting the roof and making a very load noise.
We started with a little crosspole.
[after I had ridden him to just loosen him up :)]

He jumped it the wrong way the first time :S
It didn't really make a
 difference.
The only reason it is 'the wrong way'
is because of the pole on the side.
The highest we went was 80cm.
He was good, taking off far away.
It was really nice to see where he took off with out a rider on him.
Yess, thats about it :)

[Clear Round on Wednesday, it is at a different yard, so Sam has never seen the jumps :S]

Freshhh horseyy and the odd squeal :P

Went down to the yard today and was going to muck out.
[had to help a little in the morning but, it was fine]
Then gave the angel a good old groom :D
I was notified that Alex [and Clover] and I were jumping at 12:00pm.
was all ready to help my darling Alex with the yard as we were the only two.
Then Sarah came up to me and said, ' Why don't you join
my hack?'
I was worried aabout him being tired for the jump.
But boy oh boy was I wrong :P
We were placed at the back [we were not impressed].
So we set off all happy :D
We got to the first bridle path and Sam by then was EXCITED!!
So yeah, I went infront of the slow but sweet Walter.
Sarah, the leader started trotting, Sam decided that trotting was boring and slow,
So off we cantered, with an added squeal and a little kick of excitment.
As soon as it started it was over.
Then we came onto a path.
Trotting agian, Sam again decided to canter and side step and squeal :P
At first it did worry me, but then I was just like 'Grow Up'.
So I was moved, yet again, to just behind Sarah.
This made the pony happy :)
then we came back to the yard.

Then JUMPING :DD
Before you say anthing, he was not tired!!!!!!
He was amazing!! Had so much energy!! More than I have ever known him to have, like a real horse, rather than a riding school horse :P
We had our 'baby'moments >>>
he was throwing his head everywhere, but I think that was on accord of the mud and water :S

He was, considering the water, being really good!!

Anyway...back to the actual jumping :PAs I am doing the Clear Round at Merrist Wood on Wednesday [28th] we did some practice :)
I am doing the 2'6ft class.
So today we jumped that :D

I was so happy at that height, it felt perfect [even though it wasn't].

He FLEW!
Squealing the whole wayy round :P
Not much to say really, he felt powerful and amazing all round.
While Alex was going round on Clover I had to stand by the gate [btw, this is random].

But yess, we were standing there and he started eating the gate :S :P >>>>

Then it was our turn, so gooddd!!
Yay!!

ICTURES :P [as there has been a surprising lack of pictures in this blog]

We had some VERY interresting striding :P
As you can see we got a bit far away :S
Also, I was a bit of a wimp, asking for a 'breather' :P

We then did the bigger 2'9ft coarse, was I scared??
YESSSSSS :S
I was like NOOOOOOO.

But then good old Alex told me we could do it [ILYYYY <3333]>

So yes, we did it!!

The whole I was thrown into.

Omg! Really good lesson! No, GREAT lesson!!
I was meant to go in the one at 7:00pm, but Karen, very kindly, let me join her private lesson. He was sooo good!
At first we just like worked in open order, then Sarah asked us like how they felt, did they fall in, breed, height all that stuff.
We worked on our transitions, which I must say are improving :DD
We all so did no stirrups, I need to work on keeping my toes straight and my lower leg wrapped around him more, but atm that is not as easy as it sounds as I have very short legs.
So pleased with him :DD
We also did a little bit on our light seat, which is good.

BUT THE MAIN POINT!

I am doing a show/clear round on Wednesday 28th January. My mother got me into that one.
But it is good, it will get Sam out and used to new things.
I am jumping on Saturday and Sunday, in practice.

[Sam is looking really good atm. He has really filled out and goes so much nicer with all teh energy he has :DDD]

No Restrictions.

So now that I own Sam I can jump and lunge and do things that I could never do when I shared.
I know I owned Sam last week, but it was quite busy so we went on a hack :)

This week I worked on my transitions, mainly trot to canter. I also worked on sitting trot, no stirrups and circles.
He went really well, but, I was really tired [had a sleepover and went to sleep at three and woke up at nine] he picked up on the fact I was tired so he sort of faded, my fault.

He is really going into his corners better and not falling in on his shoulder as much any more :DD
At the end we had a little jump :)
Really good, bit lazy, but then I wasn't really with it, lol.
Line was good, so was ride away :DD

We are one.

We really move as one, Sam and I.

We know each other so well; I know what he is gonna look at
he knows what I expect of him.
We love each other, he knows who his mummy is :DD.

Anyway, on to the lesson :).
He was great! It is such a great feeling to ride a horse that you know is completely yourrsss:DD
We did a really good excerciseee, it really made me [and Sam] think ahead on concentrate, which is always good. Lots of changes of rein, circles, etc.
[kinda hard to explain with words]
Then we had a jump, I rode like a retard on the first jumps [little ones] but with each jump I got better and better :DD We went to one below tops [2'9ft] and he flewwwwwww. Amazing feeling, amazing horse <33.

No video, too cold to film and to dark :((

[P.S: Got Sam some sexy tendon boots :DD]

Oh No! He's off!! :P

Amy and I were originally going to jump in the outdoor jumping school, because it was actually soft for once in about..FOREVER!!
Anyway, we went to that school and were not allowed to ride in there because they were doing something in there.
So we went to the indoor, there was a horse in there [just stretching, yeah, you know what I mean] so we asked if it could be taken out, but no.
All the other schools were being used for lessons :/
So Amy and I decided to go on a 30min hack :).
I didn't realize until after the hack, but, Sam had his bit on the weakest ring!!
I thought I felt him getting a bit strong, but ahh well. <33

Hopefully jumping next week, if the ground is okay.
Hopefully going to Surrey Pets to get some new things for Sam <33

Ahh, the past; those were the days.

When I was riding Sam today in my lesson, I was thinking of when I used to ride at 4:00pm on Saturday with Steve. I used to be sooooo scared. Because I am veru bored at this moment and time I will tell you my journey of riding :).

I started riding when I was six, at a place called Lower Farm Stables. It was lovely, but it could only offer me so much, it gave me a good start and taught me how to jump, trot and canter, basically, it gave me the basics I needed. As I got older [and better] I found I needed more of a challange. So my mother looked into to sharing, it just so happened that there was a lonnnggggg waiting list, so we decided to move. Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely yard. I would absolutly love to go back and see it, and thank them for giving me the start that got me where I am today.

So the search continued....

Then we found CEC [Chessington Equestrian Centre]. This is where it all happened. I was soooo nervous after not riding for about six months that I thought, 'AHHHH, help!!' But when I had my first lesson on a horse called Millie, it all fell into place. I knew this was the right yard. So I started to ride on a Sunday with the instructor who gave me my first lesson, it didn't really work out so I changed to a Saturday with Steve. He really helped me gain my confidence :). I remember riding a little pony called Llewy, he was very speedy and strong when I was that little. In this one lesson Steve put up at TINYYYY crosspole and I cried and he had to lead me over it. Then I found this one pony, Tess. She was the answer to all my prayers. I started sharing her [after Mystery, but she doesn't count, it wasn't a real share]. I can still remember when I used to be scared of her because I thought she did 'motorbike turns', but as I got better, it all fell into place. Unfortunaly, we had an accident and she had to leave. So the search began. God blessed me again [in a way] with Gemma [for the full story on Gemma go to my "Random Blog"]. She then got to small :(. [during this time I also rode a pony called Benny, but he went to his old owners, so that was the end of that]

The search continued....

[THIS IS WHEN SAM COMES INTO IT!!]

So I found Sam.
I asked my instructor to put me on bigger horses and along came Sam.
I decided to share him, we got better and better. I was told that he would be perfect for me to buy, so we looked into it and we are where we are now. I remember thinking 'big horse...can't canter....no ahhhh jumping :s' But now I trust him to take me to the end of the world and back.
He is now mine.

I Love you Sam.

Baby, I can see your halo ♥.

With every time I ride him, I become more in tune with him, we really work as one now and I cannot tell you how good that feels.

I lurrrrvvvveeeee himmmmmmm.

So, in the lesson today he was responsive and willing :).
It was quite funny, because at one point I asked him to canter, he SQUEALED!! It was so funny! He has done it before with me, but not for a while. I was like, 'HAA!! Piggy!!'
Mainly I was trying to get him to just go into his corners, he was sort of doing it. But it didn't help that in every corner there was a shadow, that apparently was coming to get us?!?! Silly baby boyyy.

I almost saw his halo today, well actually, I did. He is an angel that I am lucky to call my own. He may not just hand me everything, I may have to work to get results, but that is the only way, imo.
We did do a little jump today at the end of my lesson, just a small crosspole, but the ground wall soooo hard still that any higher could have doe something to his legs :S.

I don't mind :), he was perfecttttt today, imo.

There will be a video, but it was sooooo dark when I rode [7:00pm - 8:00pm] that you can't really see much of the footage, so I will have to see what there is to work with.

[P.S; sorry about the lack of pictures, the reason is: I tend to write this before I upload the stuff onto my computer, will have some up soon :).]

My New Horse.

Do you know how good it sounds to say, 'My horse Sam.' ??
He is the most amazing gelding on the planet!! I could never live with out him, he is my everything.
No more to say, other than; I Love Sam.

Vetting.

Okay, so today was Sam's vetting. He passed, so there is a 98% chance that we will get him. We are sorting out price and all that jazz. I am sooooo looking forward to being able to say 'My horse Sam.' :DD
Thats all I want to say.

Oh, one more thing; many people have told me that he is not worth it, I don't care if he is not 100% perfect or the best horse out there. The main thing is, I Love Him. Nothing will ever change that. I can't live another day without him.

No more 'Miss Nice Girl'.

My ride today really made me realize that I need to be tougher and get on with it!
If Sam bucks when I ask him to canter then I will kick him through it and make him canter until I want to stop, not him. He will listen to what I say. I am too weak, I let him get away with to much when we do flatwork.
Time to change it!
Sorry for the randomosity of this all :).

Dressage Test.

In my lesson today, my instructor decided that we would do a dressage test :S
She, herself, is doing a dressage test.
We didn't do the whole outline thing, just the school movements and transitions. He was really good, falling slightly through his inside shoulder, but that is just a bad habit he has. We also did walk to canter transitions, that was really good. I just need to be stronger and sit back more. He kicks out sometimes when you ask for canter, but again that can all be fixed with some proper schooling.

Not much else,

Vetting :S

Sam is getting vetted on Monday 5th :S
I really hope he does well, I am not expecting him to pass with flying colours, but he shouldn't fail miserably.

Clipping :S

So, Sam was at risk of mud fever so I asked if they could clip his legs.
They started doing it Tuesday(?), but he FREAKED out. So they left it for a day, so he could calm down. We then tried again todayyy. He had to have the twitch put on, he really fought against it at first, but then he calmed down enough that we could finish the clip.
Now all his legs are clipped and he looks soooooo snazzyyyy :DD

He had a minor cut on his leg so that was washed out and so were his heels, the Sudocream was put on. So he is ready for tomorrow :DD

New Years Day hack!! 2hr :DD

Hacking :) Best thing in the world, a chance to let Sam go and have some funnn.
So on Thursday I was asked if I would like to go on a 2hr hack, obviously on Sam :D
He was sooooo goooooddddd :DD
He lurvvveeed it so much, lokking everywhere and ears pricked the whole time. He felt so nice when we cantered, bouncy. Then, as it was a two hour, we had a gallop :DDD
He wasn't galloping just yet, so I gave him a kick and his entire back end was in the air!! Then we were off!! The wind was in his and mine face, that by the end of it, he had curtains :P

I was the only one to ride him, so that was a really nice way to start off the New Year :DD
